UDF Manifesto 2026 — Key Promises
Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan and other UDF leaders released the manifesto for the 2026 Kerala Assembly Election. The manifesto is anchored in five key guarantees announced by Rahul Gandhi during the Congress' Puthu Yuga Yatra in Thiruvananthapuram.
Five Key Guarantees
- Free KSRTC bus travel for women — to enhance mobility and participation in public life
- Rs 1,000 monthly assistance for college-going girl students
- Rs 25 lakh health insurance — named after former CM Oommen Chandy
- Welfare pensions increased to Rs 3,000
- Interest-free loans for young entrepreneurs, dedicated ministry for senior citizens
NYAY Scheme
Under the Nyuntam Aay Yojana (NYAY), the poorest families below the poverty line will receive Rs 6,000 per month. Financial assistance for MSMEs with turnover up to Rs 100 crore. Rs 5 lakh interest-free loans for small businesses.
Healthcare & Education
- Karunya Insurance scheme to be made more efficient
- Dialysis centres in all Panchayats
- International-standard learning facilities in higher education through collaborations with foreign universities
- Tribal university in Wayanad
Employment & Development
- 5 lakh jobs for youth within five years through skill development programs
- Wage revision for ASHA and Anganwadi workers
- Development of the state's airline sector
